Hey guys, I'm in the middle of a steering refresh and I've got a question about the inner tie rods that I received the other day. I've got an early '77, actual build date was in '76, and so the original tie rods have the 6mm machined end on the inner tie rod cup, as well as no rubber stop ring. I know from my research that the replacement rods have a longer machined edge, from the factory manual it is supposed to be 13mm.
Here's my issue, the Ocap tie rods I received from Autohausaz have about a 20mm machined edge. Is this going to be an issue? Did I get the wrong rods, and need to send them back, or has the 13mm version been superseded by these 20mm versions? If that is the case is it just a matter of doing the math to get the initial alignment set? (Something like 65mm on the 13mm versions if my memory serves me). Thanks for the help.
