|
|
When: Friday evening 18 Sep through Sun Noon-ish 20 Sep
Where: Ideola's Garage in Woodstock IL
What: This will be a bring-your-own-refreshments kind of gathering. Nothing specific planned other than talking Porsches, hanging out, drinking a few frosty beverages, maybe ordering in some food, and possibly a bonfire. Polaris will be available for excursions through the back acreage, and the pond is available for bass, catfish, and carp fishing. We have surround sound theater set up in the barn too, if anyone is interested in watching LeMans or bringing your own track footage.
Why: Hoping to meet as many local enthusiasts as possible. Besides that, boost, beer, and bench-racing. (Not necessarily in that order).
Accommodations: If you're so inclined, bring a tent to pitch somewhere on our 11 acres. Otherwise, there are several inexpensive hotels and a few B&Bs just up the road off the charming Woodstock square.
RSVP: Please send me a PM for address and directions, and your preferred mode of accommodations, and I can give you some local recommendations.

Definitely going to try to make it, likely on Saturday, and with a little luck (and some free time before then), hopefully with the 924. Looks like a good time! _________________ 1981 924 N/A 5-speed |

Spud gun prototype: check
TIL: starting fluid is apparently not the best accelerant. Apparently, old school Right Guard deodorant is the best. Static Guard is supposedly a good alternative. Prototyping shall continue with a goal of perfecting the air-fuel mixture, launch control, distance, and trajectory in time for the get together. I stopped by Dan's place last week to drop off some parts. Absolutely fantastic layout! Ideola's Garage is getting a great new home. _________________ 1979 924 NA race car

+1
Even if could get there... I have a race weekend in this days. By the way, you can watch our race online in the barn if you'll get bored with LeMans.
Hope you'll have a perfect weekend! _________________ WBR, Shurick

There you can get a schedule of broadcasting on the weekend and an archive of races.
Unfortunately we have a website and commentator in Russian only, but races are self-explaining. =)
I can translate a schedule of the weekend and convert times to UTC to make it easier. _________________ WBR, Shurick
