This one from a 1999 Cavalier looks like it would work great. Plus I could pick one up at a junk yard for cheap for fitment purposes. |

If you go to the junk yard might grab the master as well. . .another variable will be the volume of fluid needed for actuation. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Well it's bolted to the torque tube. About to make some mount pedestal templates.

That engine is small.
Looks good tho, i see its tilted properly, will you have enough room for the turbo? _________________ https://www.the924.com |

I think it might fit. The hood clearance is going to be measured in the millimeters. |

pretty sure you can drop the cross member up to around 5mm before you run into the issue of having to elongate the steering shaft or using longer studs at the chassis attachment points, add in shims to accommodate the drop.
every little bit helps right...

That looks pretty good but I would reinforce the mounts somehow as there is a big mass sitting on them dynamically. So for example the crossmember is stressed torsionally because it has a long lever you just welded on.
I would at least lengthen the support downwards until the end of the crossmember...if not continue the supports on the front side.
The 40-50mm of weld you did might not hold that long. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

You can't see it in the picture but they will be supported from the back side by a threaded rod attracted to the original mount point. |

hmmm, personally I would have made new mounts off the chassis rails... your location is quite far back to warrant this as opposed to bringing them forward to the crossmember, similar to what macbdog did with his chev conversion...

I made an oil pan. Please excuse my poor welding. I know it has a hole in it. I bought a cheap used one incase I screwed this one up I wouldn't lose money on it. The hole had a rubber plug in it, I plan on welding closed then I'm going to pressure test it and paint it if it passes.

I finished my oil pan and crossmember then painted them. I finished the downpipe. Also received almost all the parts I require for the bottom end build.
