|
|
Hi
K&N list an intake performance kit for the 924 2.0 turbo but I am wondering if this kit would be suitable for a 2.0 non-turbo? Can anyone confirm that it would fit?
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=57-0112
Many thanks

Won't help very much. The CIS fuel distributor and throttle body are bigger restrictions.
You'd be better off providing cool, fresh air to the stock intake snorkel. _________________ Stefan

many thanks for the honest advice mate, I appreciate it. There seems plenty of room to add a cold air induction snorkel and maybe even make a hole in the front nose. Cool, another addition to the long list of "to-do's"
By chance has anybody built a cold air induction system for the 2.0 non-turb and have any pointers?
thanks all - I only bought my first 924 3 weeks ago and I am growing a healthy addiction to it already |

Some of the 944 folks have installed a NACA duct into the headlight bucket cover and then sealed off the area behind the headlight.
I cut ally have one that has been modified already, it looks pretty simple to do if you're willing to mess with a cutting saw and fiberglass work.
Another thought is to simply run a hose down through the area behind the headlight bucket with a snorkel on the end open the air inlet near the radiator. _________________ Stefan

This might help:

Way overpriced, but other early Audi and VW TB's will fit as a cheaper upgrade (or perhaps if you're handy with metal fab, you could build an adapter to use a more common round TB) _________________ Stefan

apologies for the double post
I noticed thay the "Porsche 924 VW Rabbit Scirocco TB300 Weber throttle body" allows for an extra long throttle shaft allowing micro-switch actuation of Nitrous Oxide and/or water injection. Would a stock setup handle a small amount of NoS or would it jusy go BANG _________________ 1981 Porsche 924 2.0 NA |

| You can those parts at an auto parts store for a lot less then the price of a K&N kit. They will be another brand though, it's not like your buying a chrome metal intake, or even a hard plastic housing. |
