924 National Party
2013

Who is interested in a national gathering of the 924 faithful this fall headquartered at Mid America Motorplex located near Glenwood, Iowa? The event would be sponsored in part by the 924 Registry, Ideola’s Garage and the Great Plains Region of the PCA.

The event will be held in conjunction with a scheduled Drivers Education on the weekend of September 28th and 29th. If we have a large enough contingent, we could have our own run group. Additional track time on Friday would be part of MAM’s fast Friday program, but if enough 924’s show up we could probably also have our own run group.

Some of the activities that could be available are up to three track days at MAM, a tour of the Loess Hills area of Western Iowa, social gathering each night, shopping in the Old Market area of Omaha and if your pocket book is really loaded you could take your significant other to Borsheims in Regency for a very special gift.

For those of you who don’t know, MAM is a 2.23-mile road course designed by Alan Wilson. MAM has air-conditioned bathrooms that are clean, private climate controlled showers, a first aid station, and seating for 7000 guests that can view every turn and straight on the 217 acres of MAM. Great food is always available as well as air, water, and a self-serve race fuel station.

Let us know if you are interested in this type of event, in this time frame and if there is enough interest we will start the planning process to make it happen.

Deanna and I will be there.

We'll probably only be able to get one car there, but we're still contemplating hauling one and driving one. I may try to get my buddy Larry to come along, which will make more than one car very doable.

Hmm, on the way back from ALMS/WEC at Circuit of the Americas??

Interesting. . .

I presume the Sat and Sun would be subject to the usual PCA rules (no passengers, 30 day major tech inspection)?

Tom, how'd you pick that weekend? We close our restaurant that weekend, and head down to Arizona within the following one to two weeks. I need a rematch with that track, this time with all of my bolts attached~!

Any possibility of moving the date one week or two, into October? Thanks, Dave.

You will have to fill out a tech inspection form, but if your on the way back from the Circuit of America that shouldn't be a problem. Yes, the no passengers rule will apply.

If the dates work we'll be there, we had a lot of fun at the last one! The whisky was mighty fine too. I've had worse tech inspections at an autocross.

But I'll be in Copenhagen!
