The cylinder spacing is approx 87mm, the engine is much shorter than the 2.0na

Had the engine running with a stand alone ecu and first impressions are really good , still needs lots to make it road worthy.
The clutch is nice and light and very smooth, the 944 s2 gearbox is really quiet and smooth with a much taller 1st gear which makes all the difference.
The engine is so quiet and smooth and rev's so freely, there is no lag at all with the standard KO3S turbo, its only running a 210 - 220 bhp map but I'm going to build another engine (they are really cheap over here) for around 300bhp, which is tame for one of these engines as i want a flexible reliable motor rather than a 400bhp + drama queen!
I'll make a rather boring video if i get a moment at the weekend to prove it runs _________________ Porsche 924 na

Congrats with the running car!
I still have some work, before my 6 cyl 924 is running. _________________ Euro 924, 1976

Thanks, I think your 6 clylinder will be a really nice cruiser and sound cool
Heres my electric power steering column
its a vauxhall Corsa C column, the main work involved is the steering shafts which has to be done properly as its life and death.
The upper column on the corsa is a splined removable shaft so you can weld the 924 column to the corsa upper shaft (it was welded pinned and a outer sleve welded for strengh) which then means you can use the outer column with the steering lock and column mount etc.
The lower shaft is much simpler as in the pic
A very strong mounting bracket was made to fix the column to the car. and the columns ecu was relocated to the columns motor to fit under the dash
To run the column it needs 2 signals, one pulsed telling it the engines running and another telling it the cars speed, to simulate these signals there are people who make a little box (ebay)which means you can manually adjust the weight of the steering.
Or you could use a abs sensor on a wheel to make it speed sensitive, I do have the vauxhall part no for the abs signal amplifier somewhere.
It has to be said the system works better with wider tyres, and getting it adjusted to give good feedback through the steering wheel takes a bit of experimenting and it does loose some feel but it makes the car alot easier on the narrow twisty roads where i live _________________ Porsche 924 na

Been using the car for work with low boost as it needs mapping. Next will be to relocate the ecu (on the front left) to under the dash and tidy up the engine bay.
The car is brilliant and fast even in its current tune

When do you take the car out for a spin, with a camera in the backseat _________________ Euro 924, 1976

Been a while since updating this thread,
I'll look for some photos of the tunnel and a video is on the todo list.
the car has been on the road for 6 months or so running pretty much unchanged but done a few more bits, really enjoy driving and not too bad on fuel and after a couple of thousand miles havn't had to put any oil in it etc. The paint work is truly terrible and ists still running in the low 200 bhp's
Finished moving the ecu to under the dash and getting rid of the patch work wiring, it now has the ecu, relays and fuses for the engine all in one place and a dedicated loom for the engine thats all plug and play now.
the relays live under the ecu with a removable cover and a bracket to stop them working loose, ats all made from aluminium.
the engine bay is much neater without the wiring all over the place
I've also set up the triple map option on the ecu so can now run 3 seperate maps selectable from a dash switch, power loads of boost  , economy with little boost and a safe map incase a sensor fails.
Next is a full 3 inch exhaust (Subtle i hope) shorter boost pipe run and sort out the cooling hoses. Also got to start building another engine and then eventually some paint (maybee) _________________ Porsche 924 na

Been playing with the car, now has the turbo from a 225/240 bhp audi tt and tubular manifold, the flange needed modding etc, this set up should top out around 270-280bhp which is more than enough if 200bhp is anything to go by in these little cars
also sorted the boost pipes shortening the pipes by over 12"
next is a full 3" exhaust and an oil catch tank _________________ Porsche 924 na

How much room is there in between the turbo and the frame rail?
Do you think a larger turbo would fit? _________________ '80 924 M471,Wideband O2, Full coilover susp,23/19 sways,Bilstiens,KLA Strut Brace,Roll Bar,Test Pipe,BBS RS, Willwood BBK
