After doing some research I just realized that my 1978 924 with 18,000 original miles is a special Edition model. Dark grey, two pin stripes, fog lights, white and black checkered seat inlays surrounded by black leather. It looks, drives and runs like new. It is completely original. If I decided to sell it what is a reasonable price. I will put up pictures as soon as the camera cable comes from Japan. _________________ 1978 924

It also has chrome trim around the side windows. Is that typical for most 924s. _________________ 1978 924

Fiat - If you google 1978 Porsche 924 special edition, about the fourth item down you will see the car I am talking about. I don,t know how to put the connection on here, or I would.
joejax - I am just trying to find out about my car. I may not be an expert on 924s so I thought I would find people on this sight that could help me out and not talk down to me like I am an idiot because I am not a 924 expert. _________________ 1978 924

Didn't mean to offend you in any way, I just remember that when someone asked what it is worth the usual response is 'It's worth what somebody will pay for it' That's what I was referring to.
I am one of the ones that think these cars are valued too low, especially one that is in real good condition with low mileage, maybe like the one you have.
Sorry if I was sounding like I was being a jerk, I guess i should have been more clear. I usually try to welcome newcomers and help out any way I can. _________________ I got nothin'

Bottom line? There's nothing all that "Special" about your car. If it isn't one f the high end or higher performance models listed on that page I linked, then it is a more or less bog-standard 924.
Think of it as a VW Scirroco instead of a Porsche 911. The Porsche name adds some value, but not all that much since it doesnt look like a Porsche. Either way, the folks that love them and will shower love on them, rarely will see their investment returned to them in anything as paltry as "money". You'll see a return in something called "smiles". Similar to folks with Fiats or Old MG/Triumphs, etc., folks that are outside the circle will see them just as weird old cars, if they are fixed up nicely then you'll see some interest, but at the end of the day you'll still be blown away by a well driven minivan. The difference? You'll be smiling a lot more _________________ Stefan
