bumped into this in the "fotos" section on a German site http://home.arcor.de/handtuch/924/924ind.htm it's described as a 924S 3.0. Is that right? With the 931 front panel??

Why not?
The guy could have done it. The 2.7L 944 engine was a bored 2.5L, and the 3.0L is basically a bored and stroked 2.5L.
If you look carefully, the engine compartment is a 924S (battery is turned, has a late brake booster and master cylinder). Does not have a 924S/944 air cleaner.
Look, no distributor or plug wires located on the front of the cylinder head. |
