after an email from wdb suggesting we put up a very good pic he sent to mark Independence Day I've added a calendar to the front page of the discussion board.
I'll install the changes today.
When the changes are installed you might notice that when you open the front page of the board it appears to load twice. This is the software finding out what the time is on your computer (actually your timezone offset from GMT). I need to know this so the calendar will have the correct day where you are.
The calendar will appear in the top right of the page as a small picture (if there is one for that day) and some text.
If you notice anything wierd happening send me an email.
Now, to make this work I need pictures for the important dates on your local calendar. I've got a great one for Independence Day so that only leaves 364 to go. These do not need to be Porsche-oriented or just from North America. Things like Australia Day, Father's Day, Sweden's National Day, Queen's Birthday, Groundhog Day, Ferry Porsche's birthday, Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year that sort of stuff.
If you want to help out, email me a pic or two and the date they relate to (I have to admit that I don't actually know when Groundhog day is). The pics will be about 100x100 pixels in jpg format. I can resize them if you're not into that sort of thing.
We could also put up a pic of your car on your birthday (or close to if your birthday is already taken).
Have a think and send me those pics |

I know what Groundhog Day is about, but I think it'd be a bad thing to have a Porsche-specific topical photo for that day...
Maybe I can get a photo from my friend who hit a racoon (different but similar sort of rodent) with his 44...

Just got one in my head for Father's Day... a 924 with steamy windows and hand and footprints on the windshield (from the inside, of course)... would that be sufficiently appropriate?

| would it be a PITA to make the daily pic link to a larger image or gallery, I'd like to get a better look at the white 931 with its tri-vents in the hood thats up now as well as the other nice cars that will be posted at later dates. |

it wouldn't have been before I deleted the original full-size pics.
Most of the pics so far are from the "Best Looking 924 Comp." thread and the 924.org register pics plus a few from the guys' web sites. I've also mined a few from that German site I posted in answer to the question about Sebring stripes (http://home.arcor.de/handtuch/924/924fotind.htm).
I'll keep any new pics and include a link.
I think the tri-vent 931 was posted in the "Best Looking" thread. |
