Pardon my disturbance…
The car mentioned is actually Alpine White over Gabun Grey.
A White/Mexico Beige two-tone wouldn't have side repeaters and have Mexico beige on bonnet and roof.
Only the upper side/rear half would be Alpine White.
Keep in mind there are two two-tone settings for the 931, what we see here is the later one.
Greetings from the Gabun Grey turf,
Harm. _________________ Porsche 924 NA 1982 LY7A/A3A3 _ Greater driving pleasure never harmed anyone. |

I knew that but clearly had a brain fart moment......I briefly owned a Mexico Beige so know it’s far sandier than the Gabon _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Funny, I thought the same with the XJ220 wheels
They are 928 Wintercults 8x16 ET 52 with 35mm spacer rear and 7x16 ET 65 with 20mm spacer front. I'm happy with the rear. Not so happy with the front. Going to trial 8'' on the front _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

It’s different. Neither faster nor slower.......yet
Boost is not as low down nor as strong at 0.8 and at 0.9bar as the outgoing unit. Takes more time to wind up. I did not push too hard due to the wur issue, no boost enrichment...assume i bust the diaphragm with too much boost. And that the closed system is not that great to drive. When you come off the gas the engine runs on. So it will need a bov to avoid this. Boost surge chatter noise is there but not too loud. Miss the boost dump noise I did have. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Dialled it in some more last weekend. It is definitely now much quicker than the outgoing K26 2660 6.10. Unfortunately I broke my WUR and so have no on boost fuel enrichment until a refurbed WUR arrives. One on order but weeks away from delivery and also trying to buy a Brian Leask version but he appears to have gone AWOL.
But in the meantime here it is tucked away in its new home and boosting currently at 1.2bar
Had to install a dump to atmosphere BOV to make it more drivable. The revs hang too high between shifts without it. Hate the ricer sound ...... needs some mods to tone noise down next weekend
Still haven't properly boosted all the way up to redline. Ciprian reckons it will be very fuel hungry over 5000rpm and without boost enrichment, I am not going to push too hard too soon.
At least the WUR is now super easy to swap out from its top of plenum location
