Such a clean engine bay for having CIS fuel injection still, and a turbocharger! Definitely setting some goal posts for the rest of us 931 owners!!!

Oh man I must have missed this thread somehow.

Those winter wheels are sweet. So different..

That turbo should be much different than your old turbo.
You have dyno numbers with your old turbo don't you? It would be very interesting to see the change just with the new turbo on basically the same setup..

Does it spit flames or backfire with that open dump BOV?
Is it ricer loud PSSSTT when it blows off?
Are you planning on just muffling the sound of it somehow or plumbing it back into the intake between the compressor and AFM?

I like how you put it on the overboost switch spot but it looks like you had a nipple welded on there or something..

I think I might have the diagrams on pdf on how to make a Brian Leask style WUR somewhere if you want to make one yourself or have someone make one for you..
Don't go blowing her up before you get proper boost enrichment going!

With the bigger turbo if anything it should be safer, less likely to det, at the same boost level, and an IC, so I on't think you need to be too awfully rich to be safe and you have a wideband and knock warning thing don't you?

Looking good!
That thing should be darn fast on the top end now!

Wondering how much different the spool/lag really is with the 27..

http://930wur.com for reference. I had not heard of it and a quick web search shows this page. Are there good resources around for the details of the particular modifications this guy has done?

Google it. Lots of 930 owner discussions on Rennlist etc. Its 4 way externally adjustable. Most who say they have 'adjustable' WUR is just the two way pin which only does cold + hot warm up pressure. You need the bottom modification to do the running pressure and boost enrichment. Theres also some info here when I did my rpm boost enrichment switch http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=42373

@FastEddie - I ran it first without a BOV. Too much rev hang. Not so nice to drive. Nice boost surge noises though. Fitted a dual port and adjustable BOV. One port goes to atmosphere, one I plumbed back into the pipe post AFM pre turbo. Any kind of % recirc pressure gives me rev hang. So its now 100% to atmosphere only.

No flames or backfiring as that usually only happens to EFI cars with MAF

Work in progress during the BOV set up

BOV mounting. Wanted the biggest intake possible @ 35mm

Drilled out the OEM 13mm intake to base of AFM and installed a 25mm tail.

Recirculating the boost does not work and gives me rev hang. Will be capping this off at the weekend. The boost will dump into the 25mm pipe previously planned for recirc in an effort to dumb down the pssst noise. It sounds like a truck letting off its air brakes!!

That is some darn nice aluminum work there!
I want a TIG bad..

I need to try dumping the bov to atmo.. I might like the sound. Mine sounds like you stepped on a duck, eeerrrrkkk..

Getting it adjusted right recirculating reduced my rev hang a whole lot from no bov, or too tight bov, but it still doesn't drop like an anchor like I would like it to..

I am getting a super itch to go mess with my car but their is like 6 feet deep snow in the way and no sign of it leaving soon.
Shoveled my shed door out twice this year and it is again up higher than the door handle so I haven't even bothered going in there for a while..

Thats what you get for enjoying those V8s so much
We have flowers sprouting here and i'm already running summer tires on the croc.
Dump to atmo for proper rpm drop.

Hmm, in my setup its extremely quick on an of boost. If i do a quick on/off throttle blip the boost drops and goes back up almost instantly without any hickups. I start to wonder if i were just lucky getting it righ on the first shot when i read about the fiddling you guys are needing to do.

Carrera RSR.

Can you get me a straight on pic of the 924 turbo script on the pipe?

I've been looking for one for a design.
