**** me it feels quick with only a centimetre or so of throttle already!! Turbo spools at 2000rpm and boost gauge builds from 2250rpm. By 2500rpm I have full 0.7bar on the gauge. Just short shifting up to 3000rpm speed builds quickly. Far more throttle response and very little lag.

See and hear!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=e_F8vQL1H0s

EGT gauge is an Innovate job, knock sensor is a Phormula KS-4. Both are for observation and warnings and no current datalogging or mapping. Once finally run in it will likely go to JMG Porsche to be datalogged on the rollers and properly tuned with adjustable WUR and maybe some fuelling and distributor modifications to be safe at 1 bar all day long. Boost control is similar to your clubsport

The Lamda is just past behind the turbo and wastegate junction. The knock sensor has gone on to a block boss low between cylinder 2 and 3. Not ideal but once run in and set up to the right knock sensitivity it will give me a warning prior to being audible with an LED on the dash and beep.

Yes a damn shame it wasn't on the road in time for your Euro trip. I have had a nightmare journey with many delays and excursions on this build. All I want to do now is enjoy it. However I now need to improve the cooling system asap to be more robust. Looks like more efficient ally radiator and fan is needed. Never ending!!

Nice!

Do you have a part number for that Samco 90 degree tight radius water hose coming off the upper t-stat housing?

It's a stock Samco 32mm elbow cut down a touch to fit the space. Used the same at the other end on the radiator. Circa £15 ish I think?

E9032-BLK

The OEM hose elbow is now NLA. I blew one up in the Club Sport on the way to Hershey. It was the only hose that didn't get replaced, and sure enough, it let go Fortunately, we caught it before catostrophe hit and were in a good spot getting off the turnpike to repair it (by scavenging a hose off of SONIC, which was in the trailer).

I'm going to order several of these and add them to my coolant hose kits.

I prefer the ASH silicon hoses as they can supply them in 150mm legs, most are just 50mm legs and too short, they also come in wire reinforced and just about every size and colour and shape you can imagine

not afilliated just bought their stuff and it lives up to the cost.

will you keep the K&N on the top of the KJet ?
You made so much efforts for intercooler fittment, you should go on and take fresher air

This set up is really interresting !

You managed a beautifull job, congrats !

Just had a remark, are you sure the mod turbo pipe is not too heavy ?
Is all weight just hold by the bolts on the mod manifold ?
If so, may be you should had a bracket to help, with vibrations a damage may occur.

On 951's, Porsche used lightweight aluminium pipes for this routing.

As stated in previous post, so yes, it will get sorted

The K&N filter will be swapped out for pipework in to the cool air where the washer bottle used to sit.

Turbo pipe is not heavy, its aluminium, and its is totally secure in its current form with current fixings/bracket on the TB and IC

Initial numbers from the rollers at 0.7 bar boost are

180whp (est 210.4 hp at the flywheel) at 4829 rpm which is when we came off the gas
198.09 torques (est 229.47 at the flywheel) at 4278 rpm. Of which this figure was fairly consistent from 3500-4829rpm when we shut down

This is still with the restrictive K&N air filter and not the larger ducted ITG which will be fitted in due course. This is hitting an AFR of late 10's at WOT which is too rich, but safe. Timing was set at 8.7deg at idle. Will lean it off a touch

I am happy as I thought it would be 200 bhp at 0.7 bar. So really pleased with initial numbers. Sense prevailed in not pushing it too hard to soon on the rollers both with high rpm and boost.

Now swapped out the horrible blue silicone joiners to IC for black. Got a better air filter and intake fitted.

Also fitted my new windscreen washer bottle and pump. Just a half litre of fluid and far neater and lighter than the stock set up. Just need to run the wires from the fuse box. Conveniently there is a hole up under the windscreen so I can run a wire from the back of the dash to the pump 'covertly'.

Now enjoying 0.75bar boost all the way up to 6000rpm. Engine spins up nicely and can break traction on the sticky Yoko A048's with ease around corners. Had been running 1 bar briefly which was very nice and quick, however my knock sensor was going off over 5000rpm. Need to get some datalogging done to find the cause and a remedy. Likely to be too hot charge combined with 8.2:1CR I think.

Thats where the DITC is a neat piece, since it has boost temp retard . How is the AFR curve at 1 bar boost?. Havent morghen runned around with 1 bar of boost for a while ?

Hi Cedric. I definitely have plans of getting the car fully data logged in the near future but I am totally spent right now. I know already that I need an adjustable WUR, remapped dizzy advance/retard curves and possibly more. Yes, if I had DITC it would help, but this is an S1 not S2. DITC may be safer but its not tuneable. Yes, if I went full standalone ECU and EFI this would sort my problems but I'm happy with mechanical injection for the time being, its in keeping with the age of the car and still looks kind of OEM.

And to answer your question I don't have a data logged curve but at idle its in the 15's, at cruise its 14's and at WOT its bounces from 10.5 to 11.5. Clearly too rich but should help towards knock avoidance, hence I think intake temp due to boost and compression may be too high. But I'm guessing and why it needs a visit to a specialist, which I can't afford right now.

That said, 0.7 bar produced 210bhp at a limited 4900rpm a few weeks ago with just 1000 miles on the motor, not a bad result straight out the box. Therefore now 0.75 bar and using full rev range does feel more than adequate with my butt dyno
