Resited the the AFR/Boost gauges into the top of dash using the panel made by Claude, many thanks. I used velcro to attach it temporarily which I am not happy with but I may need to tweak things in the short term like using the AFR outputs for data logging when tuning. Shame the AFR is too large for the dial recess. I don't like the look of the extra gauges but needs must to protect the engine.
Bought another radio blanking plate (genuine Porsche!) which the knock sensor is going to be sited in front of (not fixed correctly yet). I have wired in a warning LED in to the dash binnacle opposite the high beam light. Should give me a clear visual warning if knock occurs. Just see it between speedo and rev counter top left of binnacle.
More fettling to be done today ....... _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Have you considered an A-pillar gauge pod? The CGT has a center mounted boost gauge, the 941 and the Club Sport have the boost and AFR on the A-pillar. I find this location much better than the center speaker. I also mounted LEDs next to the boost gauge for the water injection, and I find that the digital displays are excellent because you can see what's going on in peripheral vision, whereas the center location requires you to look right at it.
I'm also planning to put my knock light next to the AFR gauge because my steering wheel and seating position blocks my view of the blank spot on the binnacle that you mentioned putting yours in.
I feel your pain with the headlight buckets. I hate dealing with those!!!! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

It took me two days to fit the bottom side pieces. You can get them to slide
on but the come off in places the first day you drive. I put them on and where they decided to come off I JB weld them on. Now they look perfect.
I don't intend to remove them soon or ever.
Pics to follow.

Took me five minutes per side last time I fitted them. Far easier on a ramp, rear wheels off, one person guiding, one person tapping it home.
Moved the boost controller this afternoon. Now in reach of temptation when driving

New intake manifold, about to be refurbished fully S2 TB and intake duct all thrown together for the first time. It will be mounted to the 951 FMIC with a short amount of silicone. The intake plenum has be radically modified but still retains an OEM look and feel, The plenum does taper in side profile towards the back, not seen as much from above. We even reinstalled the casting joints back in!! Now just need to work out the replumbing and loose some superflouous items and its all ready to fit.

Well here's the manifold ready to fit, or rather it was. Having replumbed the vacuum hoses, fitted the badging and installed new O rings in the throtte body I am now going to move the WUR into the space in the middle of the intake runners. I am going to modify the WUR to be fully adjustable for cold and hot pressures so once in its new location it will make it easy to keep the fuelling spot on.
