Thanks guys. I am genuinely pleased to receive positive comments. Its become a major focus in the last year or so to get this car 'right'. Still have plans to improve mechanically, lightness and performance. But the look as is will remain unchanged. Although I do have a set of GTS manual mirrors I'd like to refurb and install.

Some more

Looks really sweet, love that you kept much of the oem style (I try that to ) but with a racy twist. But as I have written earlier if you reallly want to track it those skinny wheels will be a serious problem. I have 7" all around but 8" would have been even better . the problem is to find wheels with the classic look that also are wide. (fuchs cost way to much over here). I hope we will se more of this car this summer, hopefully on the track !!

Keep up the good work !

Thank you all again.

Certainly handled well at Castle Combe on Saturday afternoon. In my first session I kept up with a Lotus Elise. In the second a TR5 couldn't get away from me nor could the TVR S behind me get past. Both were Hill Climb/Speed Champs prepped/entries so were no slouches on track!! Agree on the tyre/wheel comments Cedric. I may look at some Minilites again. Loosing the rear spacers and getting a deeper lip would help with wider tyres and looks.

Really pleased with the package now. Bit firm (read 'harsh') on the crap UK roads but spot on when on track. Have a 944 IC to be fitted in due course so hope to nudge up the bhp.

Now just looking forward to the Summer shows and track days.

how about better compound tires and extra 21mm or 17mm spacers on the rears ? ..just to fill the rear arches as much as the front ones are filled.

How about some engine bay pics? What did you do to the motor? Suspension?

Not sure I would want to add another 20mm onto the current 21mm spacer!! Would rather source a new 7 or 8'' rear wheel to fill the arches, hence looking at Minilites currently. However they would be £600 a set plus £400 on tyres!

I will be running Toyo R888's at sometime. Currently Toyo T1R's which are a good street come occasional track tyre. Half the price of R888's.

Apart from a top end rebuild and refreshed fuel/injection system by the previous owner I haven't done anything to the engine yet. It runs strong and was dyno'd at 158bhp at the wheels last year. I will dyno it again before the IC fitment so we can compare the IC gain.

The suspension is Gaz Gold coilovers which were installed a year ago by EMC Motorsport who are specialists in 924/944/968 race car prep. They also refreshed the brakes with OEM discs, Mintex race pads and Racing Blue fluid.

I dont know if i can recomend the toyo r888. I´ve tried them on my car but they just didnt cope if you plan to go as fast as the machine can do, wiht lots of trailbraking and so on. The heat on 205s is just to much (Maybe 225 will do it). I think i got 4 track days and two autocrosses from a brand new set on 7" cookie cutters. I know have michelin pilot sport cup which is a far better tyre in almost every aspect (except from rainy days). If you want to go cheap I´ve heard that khumos R-tyre also is superior to the R888, you can get them cheap at camskill.co.uk. But it all depends, if I had driven 15-20% lower pace the tyres would probably had lasted for more than twice the ammount of trackdays.
