I just found a "factory repair book set" "WORKSHOP MANUALS. THESE ARE FACTORY PORSCHE MANUALS. INCLUDE VOL. 1 ENGINE VOL. 2 TRANSMISSION VOL. 3 CHASSIS, HEATING AND A/C VOL. 4 BODY AND ELETRICS" from ebay, got them for 30 bucks???
something seems fishy... i understand these books are worth like 150-200 bucks? at least $100.
I hope im not getting taken. In light of recent MAJOR monitary loses with my 924, i can make a $30 sacrafice if needed.
what do you guys think?
Kevin

| You're probably alright. He doesn't have much feedback, but it's all positive and the people that left it all have feedback of their own. You can be pretty sure you weren't scammed - it would be too much risk and too much work for the seller to set up for just $30. I think you just done real good. |

You might have gotten a screaming deal, if it is indeed a are genuine factory manual set.
I am in Rialto, the town right next to San Bernardino, where the Seller is located.
Contact the Seller, and if you would like, I can drive over there, and verify that the manuals are a genuine set, and I can take a quick look to see how old they are. Porsche issued Supplement Sets to complete the original 924 manual, and keep it up to date as the 924 evolved.
Some of the Supplements are still available very cheap, if you need them. Most of them were less than $2, the last time I checked.
You have an 80 something car, right? That means that you will need the last Factory Supplements to get the wiring diagrams, and updated ignition service information for your car.

I got mine on E-bay 3 years ago. 7 volumes, 4 for the 924 and 3 from the 944. They smelled musty, so I don't sleep with them. The last bid was $55.

The replacement and additional pages added by the Supplements are all marked with the Supplement Number that they came from. There is also a Supplement Update Page in the front of the first volume. If the manual came from the Factory with come Supplements, the numbers will be printed in. When the Owner of the manual gets additional Supplements, he/she was supposed to mark in the numbers, but very very people did.
If you look at the bottom of the pages, the Section and Page Number are printed, follow by the Supplement Number, if the page was not originally part of the Manual. Just flip through the manuals and note the highest Supplement Number. That will give you the Number of the newest Supplement added.
The Manual Set that you are getting already has some of the Supplements, because when originally published, the 924 Workshop Manual set was only (2) incomplete volumes. Over the years, two additional volumes were added to contain all of the pages. I think that the Section on transmissions was not even included in the initial manual release.
The 944 Workshop Manual Set was issued the same way. Initially it came with only (2) incomplete volumes. Now, it is (6) volumes, and you still have to get the (4) volume 924 Workshop Manual Set for some of the information if you have an early 944. The complete 911 Workshop Manual Set is more than 20 Volumes!
