Well, dear friends, the torch has been passed! Yesterday, a local enthusiast who knows this car well acquired it. I'll let him decide if he wants to go public, but rest assured, the Club Sport lives on and is in great hands.

That torch has been passed to me to carry for a time. Since Saturday the whole thing has been a bit surreal and obviously super exciting! To own a build that has been really big on this forum and to continue its story. I have always loved what Dan did with this concept. Seeing updates to a Dan build was always a highlight to any given day

On top of that, I am super glad Dan still gets to enjoy the car. He really is super gracious and helpful! His countless answers here are a testament to the nice person he is and, in person, its at a higher level still.

I am going to continue to document the car here in this thread

Updates to follow and thank you Dan for all that you have done here and continue to do!

Congrats! I was curious if you were the buyer, after Dan's mysterious post.

Does this mean the 82 is on hold or is that still pressing ahead??

Still pressing ahead! I need that one to have some sort of back seat so I can transport a family now and then in a 924.

Small update...

After much thought and needing to know as much as I can this summer, I went with the proven method (Thank you Steve!). We will see about future fueling options with this car as I go along. If it seems needed, I will very likely go with the fasteddie plan but this will always be a valuable tool no matter what. The plan is to just add a bung near the other AFM O2 already in the car, get some logs, and go from there. Still need to order EGT sensor.

Also just finished another lightweight engine mount bracket and aluminum turbo mount. Planning on shelving the OEM aluminum turbo mount since its rare (at least over here in the US for sure). Weight wise, replacing both iron parts with my aluminum components makes it like the iron bracket never existed. Stock engine mount bracket is just over 2kg and mine for this car (slightly lighter than my first one on the '82) is 680g. Very noticeable in your hand and a nice 'subtraction' to the CS theme.

You need a wideband anyway, as long as it has an output that megasquirt can use..

And you could put MS on your stock 931 fuel system, just by taking over your lambda system, and see how far you can get with that..

then you would be all wired up for mostly everything you need anyways, and have full engine parameter logging etc....

Not sure all of what that WB setup will do on its own.. Might let you log a bunch of stuff just on that.. IDK..

Yeah, right now its just for logging. Steve has had much success with his logging and to use the Zeitronix to trigger his WUR as well. That was an option I couldn't find with other choices.

I just want to log as much as possible so I don't damage anything. Far am I from the days of turning up the boost in the S1 without much more than my ear to the ground.

The S1 just seemed easier or it was ignorance. Probably a bit of both

I actually forgot since its been taking eon's to get through customs. Ordered two new rear windows out of Spain in Lexan. Still don't have them and its been at least two Months! I have Lexan all over the place here but too distracted to make windows. Battles must be chosen carefully. Also got two new rear window seals which was the real reason for the window purchase in the first place. Simply needed new seals since the rest of the car looks so good. Nice compliment to the lexan hatch as well.
