has anyone removed the center console permenantly from a street car? mine is out from when i took all of the water damaged carpet out and after seeing JayZzzz4's thread on carpeting, i like the look of the carpeting and shifter without the console.
so, has anyone done it? my thoughts are to relocate the guages to a pod where the speaker grille is(maybe business for ideola's garage?). my heater core is shot as is the control unit in the console, so taking that out would be no problem to me. and fab something up to mount a radio and finish it up nicely.
just an idea that i've been playing with. _________________ "Kraut cars, they know how to build 'em".

bad idea IMO...that console makes that interior look modernly arranged and cool. _________________ 924 Carrera 1.0bar == grin factor. 10/10;

Some of the gt variants had a half console...that would be sweet to replicate...
Here's a custom example...

something like pics 1 & 4 is what i'm aiming for, or do something custom. basically i would remove the heater controls and put my radio there. i just don't like the center console very much and am trying to decide if it will stay or go. _________________ "Kraut cars, they know how to build 'em".

Dan, anymore pics of the dash in your pictures #2 and #3. Looks like a GTR? Nice treatment. _________________ 81 932/8 ROW |
