Sadly he, a Brit, hasn't been around much lately(?)
[Please put your pics in that thread: This/these threads tend to sink to the bottom way to quick IMHO]

This paint option was only offered in 1980 model year.

Everyone knows white is not a clour . I would most definetly go for its original two-tone:
The horizontal line it creates lengthens the optical look of the car too at least a 240-bhp!
Sweet ride!

My car recently in both versions one gray over silver and the other black cherry or cassis. When I first got the car it needed paint so I painted the car black cherry. Looking back I think I should have repainted the car the original colors. I may do so soon.
I think the two tone original colors define the car and also makes it look different.

Thanks for the comments

Did a little fettling today. Installed the boost gauge and whilst doing so checked all the pipework and clips coming off the charge tube. For some reason I wiggled the dizzy cap. Not sure if I dislodged it or it was already slightly askew but I had to reseat it. Finally on the test drive I needed to refuel first. Filled up with 99 ron super unleaded and dropped in some fuel additive. Once up to temperature I nailed it. It was much better over 3000 than previously. Couldn't say it was any one of these things or a combination but it felt way better. Boost came up to 0.7 bar and car felt a little bit livelier. Still not as quick as my BMW 320d nor the feeling of being pushed into the seat as some describe. It still feels a touch stifled over 5000 rpm as it runs out of steam near 6000. Can't see how I could be bouncing it off the rev limiter. But overall I am a little happier now. Any further ideas on what to check next to gain a little more top end performance.

Shopping list for this year includes

- FMIC
- 1bar wastegate spring plus boost controller
- Gaz adjustable/lowered suspension
- Polyflex bushes all round
- Brake and hose overhaul plus EBC Greens

Would like to do more but this will relieve me a good few £££'s. As for the Guards Red lower half. Definitely seeing some more evidence today. However cosmetics will have to wait until 2011.

Boost is spot on for S1 but I still wonder if there is something wrong with it. There should rush of power after +3000rpm. So you can't feel that push in your back? On what rpm you reached full boost?

Full boost was on or before 3000 rpm. TBH I didn't double check for an accurate reading. I was more interested the boost was coming on consistently rather than when. I also noticed a little stutter here and there. Again not sure if this was ignition or fuelling. Will get the car over to a 924/944 specialist in the coming weeks for a full check over. But any advice would appreciated.

My 80 turbo has a decent (little) rush around 2800 or so RPM's, enough to feel, but certainly not impressive. This is in comparison to driving a 301 WHP 320 WTQ Mazdaspeed 3 every day that I don't think is very impressive either though. Everyone's butt dyno is calibrated differently.

Looks really nice. Almost like mine!

I have a set of GAZ dampers, which i really recomend (the fit of the front dampers can be a bit of if you are unlucky). I matched them with 28mm torsion bars at the rear and 43 Nm/mm (250#) at the front (to soft in theory but due to adjustable anti sway bars it works good, migth change to 55Nm/mm next winter). 28/22mm weltmeister adjustable anti sway bars. Superflex bushings up front. Platsic spring plate bushing at the rear. This setup together with 7" 15" cookie cutter wheels with 205/50/15 toyo r888(dont forget to att lots of negtive camber). This setup is a good starting point if you want to run fast at the track but still have a nice car for sunday drives.

Please add som more pics of your ride

I did the guage swap, have it on both my cars.

(i have heard lots of bad stuff about the green stuff pads, be careful)

Cedric

I've watched your videos on youtube over Xmas. Your rpm comes on much quicker than my car. Please tell me more of what engine work you have done.

Also tell me more about your gauges especially the knock sensor. I am wading through the tech stuff on this forum. Lots of threads but only a few are relevant to my needs. So sorry if you have posted this before.

As a thanks here are some more pics.

Wow! OK, those pics should definitely end the all white or red/white battle.
Reminds me of a Vic's Secret catalog. Question,(I may not have been paying attention)what is that keyhole thing behind driver's door handle?
