I want to create my own "Field of Dreams". It will have all of the forgotten Porsches together in one giant field! |

Field of dreams? Go to Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Lots of Poppy Fields full of dead CGT's...and the occasional Mustang. |

I count just few 931's in Poland:
1 mine Series 2 - actually engine in Puzzles but soon will be complete
1 in working condition Series 2
1 with engine problems Series 2
1 Series 1 in good engine condition
2 US version booth in bad condition
And that's all oficially known here. So could be something more.
From parts:
I have engine and gearbox from some 931 S1
Someone sell 931 US turbocharger on local ebay few months ago.
So I can count 6 complete cars and at least few in spares. _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild

Well, I haven't seen an actual 931 driven in my area since the early 90's. I spot a 944 cabriolet every once in a while, and there are 3 other 924's out here aside from mine.
My 924 has half of a driveline from a 931 under it, so that would account for yet another turbo that bit the big one somewhere along the line.... _________________ proud owner of a 1979 924 Sebring Edition with a 931 trans that looks horrible but somehow runs... |

I've got #428 out of a production run of 800(imported to US) 1982 931's. Her value is certainly not consistent with rarity; and I wonder why. |

I too have never seen one actually moving. I use to know where a bunch set around, but never saw them move under their own power. _________________ Ryan Moone

Interestingly, we have a pretty good contingent of them here in metro Detroit. I own three, plus I see Vaughan in his fairly regularly, and I know of probably 3 or 4 others in pretty decent shape that are drivable. There must be at least another 5 or 6 I know of that don't run, not counting the 2 I've stripped and taken to the crusher. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

the first turbo I've seen driving is the one I bought this summer. That goes for a lot of my cars, such as my 86 Audi Coupe GT, MGB GT, Merkur.... |

Count me in with one more, in good running -and only slightly modified -condition back in Oz. I know of one other that's all but original and another that's only slightly modified (crunchie 57's), plus macBdog's Frankenstein ( ). Can't think of any others offhand but I'm sure there's a few more around Brisbane... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

According to Shannons Insurance website there were 171 924 turbos imported to Australia. I have got one registered on the road and one in the shed. It would be interesting to know how many have survived.
I guess there might be a few more privately imported.

For my piece I have one running, and parted one. I have only ever seen one other moving under its own power (San Diego Porsche Parade).
This is what makes our August get together exciting! _________________ Toofah King Bad
