Don't forget to post a diagram of your circuit
Scan a hand drawing or use Microsoft Paint _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)

OK thinking of using this as my circuit design
This circuit is designed to test phototransistors with an analog meter without causing any additional current drain and volt drop.
The two 9v batteries will be replaced by a 7805 regulator.
R1 will be replaced by a trim pot.
The two arrow that indicate test leads for thephototransistor circuit will be the "ground" and "hot " connections on the MAP sensor
The Map Sensor will also be powered by the 7805 regulator.

No need for the diodes there, I'd use a unidirectional suppression diode to clamp the incoming voltage to 18v or under but even then the voltage reg will sort anything up to about 40V.
I would also put a resistor in the line form the amp out and amp - to give a bit of damping. Taht will respond instantly (Pretty much) a resistor will give a tiny ramp up.
Not started mine as my gauge hasn't turned up and I'm re-looming my electric mirrors! _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

You mean like this. What value R2 or what about a trim pot?

Good to see you got a connector with it. These unique/ specialised plugs often end up costing more than the unit they fit. |

Yep, it was an eBay purchase (£6 inc postage). I messaged the seller asking them to include a bit off the harness too. The seller did so at no extra cost. Gonna solder longer tails on, shrink sleeve each joint and then black heat shrink over the whole lot. Will stager my joints too in order to reduce a bulky bit in the harness. _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)
