A genuine GTS then?
Small world

Trivia:
Why the opposite locations for the hood scoops on the 86 & 87 Le Mans racers?

Of the 59 GTS' built only 15 were Clubsport. But everytime a GTS is discussed its always described as a Clubsport version. Is it me or it appears to be more Clubsports around than originally made?

There may be "clones" or people just using the name and not knowing the difference, however one giveaway on this car is if you look closely enough you will see the alloy roll cage. It also sported the 935 seats. Now granted those bits could be installed after the fact but considering the collection that this gentleman has I can assure you that this car is real.

My understanding was all GTS came with Matter ally roll cages and lollipop seats unless specified otherwise from the first owner

China <3 924 CGT

The small fishing village Shenzhen (right above Hong Kong) in Guangdong Province
became a big metropol as first of the Special Economic Zones in the early eightees
and is now considered one of the fastest-growing cities in the world.
The 15 million people that try to live in Shenzhen’s 1,991 square kilometers
create a population density of 7,500 people per square kilometer.

So, when you have some time off you'd like to get out of there for some fresh air as quick as you can…
a sporty wagon, maybe with a touch of class, preferably imported of a desired brand so you can flee with grace?
And since you don't want your neighbour to think your whip belongs to the
People's Republic of China you paint the car a decent yellow coat?
…I'm just guessing here!

I went to Shenzen many times in the 80s and 90s. When it was started as a town you had to be younger than 25 and single. I think they wanted them to work in factories without complications. I don't think they paid them help much.

The car Harm linked to was featured in a recent Porsche Panorama magazine (official mag of the Porsche Club of America). It is indeed a "Klub Sport".

The interesting thing, though, is that the article had a bunch of factual errors about the Carrera GT (non GTS, non club sport version), as well as the standard 924 Turbos. I thought about writing a letter to the editor, but never did. Stuff like this is how such errors get propagated. Maybe I should rethink sending a letter.

On a related note, we attended a special event at the Antique Car Museum of America at the Hershey Porsche Swap Meet earlier this spring. They had a GTS on display, and had it listed as a "Klub Sport" when it clearly was not. So I think there is a lot of mis-information out there, and most Porsche people don't know -- and don't care -- about the distinctions because it's not a 911.

No finger pointed intended of which is real or unreal. Just an observation of cars for sale or featured in mags always appear to be described as a clubsport.

Out of curiosity, what gave the added power for the GTS clubsports 270bhp versus the GTS' 245bhp apart from boost being raised from 1.0 to 1.1 bar?

Most likely a different cam profile.
270hp is typically conservative. 285 is nearer the mark with dry sumped CS making 315hp+

The car formerly belonging to Steve Wellings has now resurfaced in California, apparently after having undergone a complete rebuild. See original pix earlier in this thread: (there are also a handful of historic pix of the #79 GTR).
