great thread, its funny that when you look at a 924 it still looks quite modern (and drives when sorted) when next to its contempory's most of the cars in those old mags look a bit well old if ya know what i mean, or maybe i'm addicted to porsche

Courtesy of 924-76, here is a fascinating article from the July 2006 issue of 911 & Porsche World on the 924 engine. Some interesting little tidbits in this article, including the continued perpetuation of the Dennet 2.4L myth* (click thumbnail for full article; use the picasa magnify feature to enlarge once you arrive at the image).

Engine Tech: Porsche 924
by Paul Davies
911 & Porsche World, July 2006

*See why the 2.4L claim is a myth and not fact.

This article answers part of an earlier question I had about oil.

"Neil Harvey considers a good quality 20/W50 lubricant is best for a road going engine."

And as far as a good brand, I've heard good things about Valvoline VR-1 20w-50 or Kendall GT-1 20w-50 . But apparently it's a matter of opinion.

Thank you for posting that Mr. Ideola!

How come the 924 and Turbo are so different...?

And since when is the Fiat Panda a 'sports' car?!
