How the heck do you remove the carpet and insulation glue they used on my 924S? It must have been a invented by a crazy German mad scientist...
Any ideas for stripping or dissolving this stuff of the metal so my soon-to-be-track car won't look like a hairy molting moose on the inside?

errr.... scrape as much as you can off and then give it an acetone bath? Lucky for me my carpet isn't bad enough to scrap so i don't know too much in the crazy german glue removal process. _________________ 1978 guards red 924, stock... for now |

As in my email to you, but posting here for the benefit of all:
I wrote: | I used some stuff from NAPA called "Kleanz Easy". Get a scotch bright pad, some good rubber gloves. Saturate the scotch brite with the solvent, and start scrubbing away. The other thing that works is a hair dryer and a putty knife. Either way, expect to get some blisters. Have fun BTDT! |

Try wd40 and a scraper. Worked for me both on the hood and in the cabin. I did the floors in POR15 when I finished. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

It's absolutely amazing that this glue is 22 years old, and still flexible and sticky! What the heck is this stuff?
Errr...what is POR15?

Please try WD 40 on the glue and let us know.
As for POR 15 it is a rust preventer that when applied looks like glass. It is almost impossible to remove. Get it on your hands and it will take a looooong time to come off. On the car you will have to grind it off.
On the track car I put it on the floors and back sides of the car including the trunk. Water does not penetrate this stuff.
Tyope in POR 15 and you will find the website.
Best product ever. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

It's a "contact adhesive" - available in spray cans or paint cans for brushing/spreading on. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."
