You don't need to use a wax. If anything ever happened to the car and you had to take it to a body shop using a wax causes issues. Paint issues. The best thing for newly painted cars is LEAVE THEM ALONE! Never use a touchless carwash or ANY carwash. Wash your car with clean hot soapy water if you must with a chamois, when it is clean use a hose to wash away the soap and them use the chamois to remove any water residue. You can do this by wiping very gently using ONE stroke to move along the whole car. Move up to the next spot along the whole line of the car and so on. Be sure to wring out the chamois periodically. _________________ Working on cars is restful for they have neither conflict nor emotion.

thats what "wax and grease remover" is for im sure body shops use the product.
No wax in our climate = bird and possum crap that melts into the paint...ultra high uv causing fading etc etc...all these are a much greater issue for the overall paint then the spot touch ups every so often...
Agreed on no wax fora newly painted car...but thats only untill solvents have completely evaporated, differeing depending on the paint conditions etc _________________ 1979 NA

Shouldn't use chamois if you don't want swirls in your paint, they scratch. Pre rinse, snow foam, rinse, lambswool mitt, two bucket method and dapping not rubbing with microfibre drying towels.
In my and many others opinion a paint sealant and wax is required to protect the paint and maintain a gloss for easy dirt and water dissipation. Paint shops can easily remove wax residue with removers and pre paint solvents. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife
