I just took my car out for a tour last night and spent about 3 hours tuning up the water and methanol injection system so it's working right.

Just a few notes for anyone that tries it:

- I had lowered the onset for the juice so that the juice comes on now at 1 PSI boost - 60 ml/min and it smoothed out the acceleration like crazy. It was like a whole new car - like an intercooler. I just can't believe the difference between this setup and stock.

- mix was 50:50 - no signs of ping, leaning out or anything untoward all the way up to 9 PSI - although I'd like a second nozzle for 7+ PSI

- I used up very little juice on a 100 mi trip (stopping here and there to adjust the switch, pump and tinker).

Variable controller is next

Sounds cool!

I'm also going to install this kind of system when my studies are over. If one has a car that is very original and unmolested, then this is the way to go. I would like to have an intercooler but I hate the idea of cutting and bending things in the engine bay. Original CGT IC would be nice though!

What is the cost of the system and how was it to install?

The system I had cost $275 US from Snow Performance. It came with a basic boost pressure switch, pump, nozzles, hose, vacuum line, fittings, reservoir, manual and so on. I spent an added $50 for two nozzles (60 ml/min), $60 or $80 on added solenoids which I found I didn't need. Thing is, the hydraulics section of a lot of stores will have some of the fittings for really cheap.

A really good kit seems to be DevilsOwn. They're almost as cheap but theirs comes I think with a variable controller - the cats meow. I'd get the Devil's Own now and enjoy the variable controller for a few bucks more.

Here's an excellent link from a Subaru owner's website:

Ok so in the inside, the tiny green light above and to the left of the Bar gauge shows when the unit is spraying - it glows pretty bright green. The red one on the right above and to the right of the voltmeter the shows when the tank is empty. No drilling needed - just take out the screws that needlessly hold in that panel and pop in these LEDs. You still need a lot of umph to pull off that panel even without the screws btw.

Installation was very easy. The delicate part was just tapping the aluminum intake charge pipe so that it would thread at nearly 90 degrees to the intake charge pipe. I didn't quite make it look right to my eye but it works.

The pump I've located in the right rear of the car behind the rear tire. The reservoir above it. I push the methanol the length of the car. It's not tied down yet but it runs and allows me to test a bit before nailing it into place - it's just on top of a painted piece of 3/8" plywood.

Yeah I used zippy ties for the vacuum lines. I admit it. I have the gear clamps I just need a sunny day and some motivation to get in there and clean up.

I did detect some noise just from 0 to 1 PSI and I'm wondering now if I'm hearing the fuel pump. Or the Snow methanol pump?

So I'll test that out tonight and write down what I find.
