The area round the rear hatch receivers on my new project car are rusted rather bad.

I will have to replace the receivers and the rubber, but thought I could probably quite easily fabricate a replacement part to replace the rusted out bits. My problem is that I do not have a complete and not rusted part to get the measurements from.

Could someone please be so kind and supply me with some pictures of how this should look when it is not rusted, and what the relevant measurements are?

Thank you very much!

That is spot on, thank you very much. i should be able to use that to help me fabricate the replacement metal. Just some more questions...
It is hard to make out from your pictures where the metal stops and the rubber bushing starts. Does the metal have a downwards turned edge that meats the rubber, or is everything in your picture metal?

These 2 pre-repaint oldies give a better idea of what's metal and what's rubber -

The metal extends down around the edges about 5mm.
