|

I'm planning on shortening the shift lever that clamps onto the selector shaft that comes out of the transmission to make my own short shifter. Does someone know the measurement on the short shifter from the center of the selector shaft to the center of the rod that connects to the rest of the linkage? I don't want to make mine too short, but if I don't make it short enough it won't be worth the work.
Heres a picture of the part and measurement I'm talking about. Can someone measure this distance on the short shifter kit? thanks.

Dont forget, you can also move the connecting shift rod (#8) higher on the gearshift for a shorter throw.
And you might want to shorten the side to side throw by lengthening this.

Mine measures out at about 15cm. It might be more like 15.2cm, but 15cm is pretty close. |

Man, I read that date wrong. Somehow, I thought the last post before mine was from 11/22/08. |

It is about 2”3/16 or 5.6 cm.
I attempt the same last summer, I cut ˝” and it was a bit to much because the selector shaft connector couldn’t clear the top of the tranny be about 1/8".
Let us know the result and how much did you cut. |

Cripes, I guess that shows how out of it I was when I measured. I offset the tape to 10cm to make it easier to center and forgot that when I posted. Although I suppose somebody making one 15cm long would probably notice that right off the bat... |
