Wife's office is about three blocks from there in Regency Court. They were relieved when they found out he off''d himself. Just wish he would've done that to begin with and leave the 5 women and 3 men alive and out of it.

Shooter said on his website he "wanted to beat Cho", referring to the guy who took out 32 at V-Tech.

I hope there is a special corner in hell for these guys.

Another Emo Kid Clown that can't handle life. Got fired from his fast food job. His girlfriend dumped him. His response to those pieces of life "stress" was to go on a shooting spree. What an idiot. The guy is living a blessed life in one of the richest countries in the world and that is the reponse to the mild troubles he encounters. Good riddance to him, but why did he have to take anyone else with him? Coward.

These incidents are becoming more known to us across the country and globe. Not necessarily because there are more occurances (maybe) but also due to how much more quickly information travels these days. Anyway, with all the notable recent tragedies, like Virginia Tech, this is honestly the first time that I ever had a rather troubling thought. I actually thought during my ride into work today that the parents of this kids should be help accountable to some degree. If you've read the story on this kid, you'll learn he's had a history of trouble, sure, but his parents kicked him out of the house and disowned him well before he was 18. I'm not at all trivializing his actions or even saying he had nothing to do with it - he did what he did - but I can't help but to think that the parents played a huge role in this. Kicking your kid out before he/she is 18 lends to seem as dangerous, careless, and as selfish as driving drunk. It wouldn't surprise me if someone went after his parents - I think I would.

My reading of the events was that he actually displayed the weapon to the people he was living with the night before the shooting and they did nothing. Here's a high school dropout fired from his high paying job at McDonald's and they think his having a weapon is perfectly ok?

Having been teenager and having had teenagers.. I don't want ANY teenager around me armed with anything.

A tragedy. Probably preventable.

My 2c. As long as guns are readily obtainable to the people who do not necessarily need one these occurences will continue.

If there was more hot and steamy sex, there would be much less violence. None of my girlfriends have ever been violent

Besides, hot and steamy sex gets an NC-17. Look at the violence in Beowulf - PG13. There's your probem.

The argument that "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" doesn't really make sense to me.

Take the US, Canada, UK and Australia as examples. It could be argued that currently we all have the same pop-culture influences - television, movies, games & music are similar across the four, if not identical in many cases.

However, per capita the US has much more gun related violence. The US also provides the easiest access to firearms. There has to be a relation between those two facts.

I'm not saying society is not to blame, or that guns are the ultimate evil, nothing is that black or white.

The US contains Hollywood. I think our culture has gone down the toilet alot faster than other countries.
