I purchased a Racing Dynamics strut brace from SFX Performance
The description says it suits my car, and I got an email confirmation from them just to be sure... then it turns up and doesn't fit - it's too short!
I'm not sure if it's a simple mistake of the one I received having incorrect plates at either end (I notice that one is shorter than the other), or something else - but it's a PITA.
The support guy at SFX is going to contact the manufacturer to see what the deal is...
Has anyone had any experience with Racing Dynamics before?

I have one, but have not installed yet. Seemed to line up OK however. Mine is symmetrical on both ends as shown.

Wow - thanks man! Mine is clearly screwed then... Hopefully they'll see this in the pics I sent them and send me over the correct plates.
Thanks! _________________ Whoever said you can't buy happiness forgot about Porsche!

Did they send you two ends the same hand?
Are you sure this will fit on your 924 NA as I`ve measured the clearance above the TB at only 12mm (at the shaft nut) and that is in the hollow section of the hood? Couldn`t even fit a TPS there so personally am sus about a strut brace.

Hope those are cheap. With the strut assemblies mounted in rubber, you won't see any effect on handling. _________________ Toofah King Bad

They are the same hand, but not identical.
I asked them 57 times to confirm that it would fit, so if it doesn't I'll be mighty pissed. I do see what you mean about the TB shaft nut... hmm...

Just to close this off... Racing Dynamics/SFX have offered a full refund on the strut brace, including shipping. They don't even want me to send back the brace!
They didnt explain further than that, but I guess they've realised that they're vehicle application notes are incorrect. The brace won't fit a NA 924.
Wonder how much I'll get for the scrap Al...
Back on the hunt for a brace now...

Could you not have some new end pieces made up by a welder?? or are the clearances wrong...?

I can't really tell the clearances without end-pieces... but my guess is that (per Roger) it won't clear the TB...
Cars away still so can't really play with it at the moment... _________________ Whoever said you can't buy happiness forgot about Porsche!
