I need to replace both scraper seals as they're both pas their best, but I just can't seem to get the new ones to fit - they keep popping up out of the channel in the trim, anyone any ideas ow I might make them stay in, the old ones seem to just slip on and off..

the also seem to be a slightly different shape than the originals, the metal part on the original has a small bens all then way down in a kind of shape similar toa question mark, whereas the original is much straighter. they are part numbers 477.837.470.A and 477.837.469.A

Are you talking about the outside ones? If so, they are held in by pot metal clips, which you can't see very well unless the door panel is removed. I justa installed these strips on mine, and it was helpful to use a small screwdriver to pry the clips open a bit to guide the strips in.

But be careful. . .they seem to be prone to corrosion and breaking.

Yes those are the ones, I had the door card off and could see the clips, just couldn't get it to press down far enough. Seems the metal part that locates into those clips wasn't quite the right shape, after a lot of fiddling around and bending, it's on the car, but it needed the help of a rolling pin to press down.

The passenger sde one just pressed on no problems, maybe it was a slightly warped or damaged seal, but they did come from ebay, and were quite cheap...
