I'm just wondering if they are the same as the Euro's with just a better quench.I may install some on my daily driver. I'm just putting out some feelers. I'll be going all stock except the new pistons.

all 924na's have pretty bad squish area, becuase the pistons sit so low in the block, and don't have very large dishes in the pistons, Becuase they sit so low (3-5mm) down in the block, technically they don't really have any 'squish'

before my pistons went I had 9.0-1 and I felt
the difference on the freeway from 8.5 anyway
suppose you could go with a nos kit with a blow off valve. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

The set I'm looking at are standard bore FINISHED HONED SIZE, 86.520. for $100 without rings.
What is the likelihood that I won’t need a re-bore? I have two original engines. _________________ 1978 924 95 mile daily driver.

The 77 block I used for my rebuild was not running when I got it, came out of a car with unknown mileage and unknown maintenance that had clearly been abused based on the condition of the body and running gear. The machine shop I brought the block to said they had never seen a used block with such nice bores, the factory cross hatching was clearly visible. They just did the minimum (hone or re-applied the cross hatching, something like that) and I was good to go. That was the first time I really bought into the theory that the 924 bottom end was "bullet-proof". _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

I've opened 4 924 motors so far, and all of them have the factory crosshatching visible. I've also had machinists mention that the rods are huge.

Mine had 130,000 miles and rust in the cylinders and it cleaned up great. I have NO oil usage.
