Anyone run the 931 motor, out of the vehicle ?

I want to rebuild my motor, and then run it out of the vehicle.

1. Anyone done this ?

2. Whats the most you can leave on the motor, and still manage to drop it back in the vehicle ?

3. Will the clutch plate run out of alignment, without the drive shaft holding it centre.

Anyone got a spare torque tube and shaft, they could cut the first couple of feet off and mail to me ? I was hoping to be able to weld up a metal encased concrete flywheel running in a tank of oil, to make a dyno.

Am I the only one amazed by what you always come up with?

make sure you have enough exhaust attached so the engine doesn't draw cold air into the turbo on off-throttle (ka-rack)

You haven't seen my last project, before my 931;)

A Super Critical Reactor !

A pressure vessel and pump capable of squashing things upto a pressure of 800 Bar, thats 12,000 psi. Now thats what I call BOOST!

At pressures above 500 Bar, certain materials become super critical, and behave as both liquids/gases/solids, at the same time.

Looks like mercury, or something shot from the hubble telescope.

The pump came from the Toyota factory, I think they used it for the presses that squash the car panels.

It's powered by a 10KW 3 phase motor.

Ever wonder what happens at the murkiest depths of our oceans, come see me

I want to quickly see the effects of engine mods, without having to stick the motor back in the car

Khal,

I'm in contact with him. The motor however went on a proper engine dyno, not a Heath Robinson contraption consisting of an oil drum, two rolls of duct tape, eight litres of oil and a super critical reactor...
Last i heard, he was up near the 400BHP mark, at the flywheel.

Next time you chat ask him how to prepare the cylinders properly so you dont need to go pouring your mums vim in there, to seat the rings properly.
