|
|
Latest Motor magazine (Australian publication) has a comparison of the Porsche 959 to the new Bugatti Veyron, implying that the 959 was the Veyron of its day. The article may be in other mag's around the place... Motor often pick up articles from overseas magazines. This one's by Georg Kacher.
Haven't read the article yet. Should be good, though
BTW, any of our Aussie members (or indeed those overseas) remember the old (Australian) Modern Motor magazine? I'm pretty sure it was them that did a fantasic comparison between the 959 and the F40, back when the F40 was released. I had a copy of it way back when but it's long since gone walkabout... I'd love to get another copy. Anyone have it? Know where I might get it? _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

all old car mags end up on ebay.
I recently picked up a 1976 Wheels mag with their first write-up of the 924 and a 1976 Modern Motor with their first drive in a 924 on Oz ebay. Both mags loved the car. One day I'll get around to scanning the articles and some of the other cars in the mags to give some context. The hot item from Japan at the time was the Datsun 180B
Anyway, hit ebay au and search F40. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

Wasn't this one, was it?
I've already posted the article from that one.
Thanks for the ebay tip. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

yeah, that's it.
It's amazing how cheap and ugly the cars were at the time. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

Yeah! But the 924 is a Porsche, after all...
I'd love to check out Modern Motor article you mention, when you get the chance. Cheers. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Actually, that's not it!
It's just the 959 vs. F40. It's got 'em both on the cover... the 959 in white, IIRC, and the F40 in red (duh!) _________________ '80 924 Turbo |
