Anyone know what modifications, if any, can be made to 951 front struts to fit on a 931 S2? Is this possible? _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

It is, but you have to change upper mounts (4 8mm bolts) and modifythe strut-to-spindle mounting holes. On 951, the distance is 5mm bigger, it means you have to enlarge the hole. It's been done before, no ill effects. Don't you want to change to 951 brakes? It would make things much easier..... _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

Sounds simple enough. 4 piston calipers? Hmmmmmmm...................sounds worth while. How would changing to 951 brakes make the job easier? Fill me in, please! _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

OK, did some searching in the archives. (Should have done this first. ) Now I follow you. Changing brakes requires 951 spindles (for mounting the larger calipers), hubs and rotors which would have the correct mounts for the struts, therefore, no modification of the strut-to-spindle mounting holes would be necessary. Would this work OK with the stock brake hydraulics? _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

Yes it will be ok, I've done this number of times, no problems. Of course, new pads and hoses wouldn't hurt
I changed suspension to 87- on my 931 and used steel front A-arms and alloy rear amrs (like 924 S). _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp
