I've decided to create a website devoted to the 924S since there aren't many sites devoted to it, and there are many more 924/931 sites out there than 924S ones.

I've got an '88 924S Le Mans, and I plan to have a whole section dedicated to this special model. I'm also going to have a comprehensive model history (not that there is much of one), comprehensive specifications, links to other sites, photos, etc.

Once the prototype site is up in the next week I'm going to ask you folks for any info, pictures, links etc so we can make the site as comprehensive as possible. My goal is to make an extremely accurate site that should contain as much info as possible so people looking for 924S info don't have to surf to so many different sites. If you have ideas on what type of info you want included let me know -> jcox@pcnet.ca.

I've heard from some people already saying they want pictures online of various components on the car so they can refer to them in discussions etc. This is a great idea. Any others?

Your thoughts and comments (good and bad) will be most welcome.

John

Not a bad idea because they are an oddball car. How about "turbo-charging the 924S" as an item. The 951 boys would be sick if you pulled that off.

Sounds like a great idea to me. When I started researching the 924S after finding one for sale that interested me, I found little information on the web about the car. If you wish any assistance, feel free to get in touch, I'm just down the highway from you!

thank god! i also have a black '88 924S le mans and would love to have a site dedicated to it. i was thinking of making a site like that too, but i have been busy working on a school HTML project.

i would love to turbo or sc my 924S but am afraid of the resale value of the car and also how good it can take the horsepower.

Hi guys,

The good side is that you'll concentrate your expertise. The downside is that you'll lose personal connectivity around all of those parts that are common to the 924S and the other breeds of 924, like the NA and Turbo.

I bought a rear spoiler once from a 924S guy once, and he bought a other interior components from me. With separate sites, you'll have a smaller pool of expertise and parts from which to draw.

Is it a big deal? I don't know. But, as a Canadian, I'm quite used to hearing separatist sentiments and striving for independence. It typically arises when the needs of that group (real or perceived) are not being met.

Not to be controversial, but, Vaughan, would it be too much trouble to provide a 924S corner for those special cars?

Or, to you 924S guys, what would you guys require so that you could hang out here, enjoy the benefits of occasional cross talk and trade with us guys, and still have a place where you can do your own thing? Would a separate discussion area and more tech information on your cars be a good start?

Please remember, some of us own both kinds of car. Some of us want to own both kinds of car. Some of us benefit from the collective talk.
