Hi,

There is a small yellow light that says "DXS" on the top of the guage cluster of my 82' 931. What does that stand for? I'm guessing its for the high beams, but I'm not certain.

OXS=Oxygen Sensor. It's warning light that says it's time to replace your sensor. It trips every 30,000 miles and is reset by a button underneath a black box on the left front wheel well that has a speedo cable going to/from it.

It's saying you've gone more than 30,000 miles since you reset your O2 mileage counter.

Actually it's there to remind you to replace the O2 sensor....

In OZ we dont have an O2 sensor and its an extra high beam indicator.
just a FYI.
Strange - one turn indicator but 2 high beams.

Early US 924s (no O2 sensors) had a second high beam indicator too...

Sad, the Dr assumed all Porsche owners were smart enough to know which way they moved the turn signal lever.....

Actually the turn signals stopped working yet would work with the hazard/emergency flashers.
All the globes were ok and the flasher worked when the hazard switch was on.
I spent several days with the turn switch apart, checking wiring etc and ended up putting a separate flasher and indicators under the dash.
The light in the guage works with the hazards and the L and R lights work with the respective turn signal.

Great minds think alike, Ozzie!

When I first saw those blank buttons on the 924 dash, I thought that's just screaming out to have separate turn signal indicators there!

However, unlike you, I still haven't done anything about it. Good on yer, Mate!

As I said I had a wiring fault I couldn't find- this was a work around.
