How the In-Tank Fuel Pump Wears Out

I disassembled my failed fuel pump to see if it could be fixed or cleaned and to see why it broke. Thanks, Bob, for the idea. Anyways, I documented my discoveries here:

As a result, I decided that I didn't want to risk using a used pump and just ordered a brand new factory part from Sunset Porsche in Oregon. This is the place that advertises in Excellence with 15% over dealer cost. Total out of pocket was $94, including shipping. Well worth it for peace of mind.
Thanks for everybody's help and advice! I'll let you know how it goes.

Nice Work! clear ,illustrated,to the point.would be nice if we could lay out the whole car like that.
