Im trying to put in an audio setup that uses a small amp i got for 99p on ebay and a sony personal mp3cd player. I wanted to leave the old radio in there partly as I quite like having an AM only radio in these days of dolphins and crap swimming across the screen, partly as it really fits in with the interior, and party as a deterent to any little scrote who wants to break in and nick it. (whos going to nick a 22 year old AM radio?)
With that in mind I need to find somewhere to put the controls. I have a rotational potentiometer ripped from an old radio which will also turn the amp on and off. I need somewhere to mount this along with the control for the mp3cd player. My first thought was replace the ashtray, but the CD controller is too bulky and would end up with me hitting it everytime i changed gear. The best spot ive come up with so far is under the centre speaker cover, if i hinge that i can make up a panel and mount the stuff under there. But thats still a bit incovienient to reach. Any other ideas for where to place stuff while maintaining a stock look and not butchering the interior.
