I have a chance to pick up a parts car basically. Its a black 944, dont know what year it is. I talked to the guy and he said, it runs, but doesn't stay running and believes the fuel pump is weak. The car is in overall ok condition at best.. the dash is cracked, the seats are in good condition, the tranny is in good condition and the motor runs... It has phone dial rims on it, which I'm hoping to put on the 931.
I'll get pictures ASAP.. I just have a simple question as to if the hood off that car(which weighs nothing compared to the hood on my 931, will fit on my 931? I would just add a CGT similar scoop on it...
I just want to know, if I could get my 500$ back out of the car? Shouldn't be TOO hard right?
Maybe a track car.. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

I'm pretty sure you could part out the car for 500, but I'm no expert.

You should be able to get more than $500 from the engine and tranny alone.
The hood is exactly the same on the 944 and the 931, except for the NACA duct for the turbo (which you need to have). Is the hood insulation missing from the bottom of the 944 hood? If so, that would proably explain the lighter weight. You could remove the insulation pad from the 931 hood to save the weight (but the paint may suffer).
You say the 944 is a parts car? What makes it a parts car? No title? Body damage? Rust? |

You can try to repair it and sell it for a few thousand or part it out for a little less. |

there is an 88 944 on ebay right now that is running (in California) and says that it drives good but it is way overdue for the timing belt job and needs to be done immediately. If you can change the timing belt and other parts yourself it would be a pretty good deal for an 88. _________________ 78 924 sold.
