I went out the other day to go to work and
saw a puddle of oil approx. 4inches in diameter coming from the front portion of the car around the middle. I am guess the same area as the oil pan drain plug. Problem is that I can't see any sign of a leak any ideas on were it might be coming from? I/ve looked around and I can't seem to find any place that is leaking any type of oil. All my fluid levels are full.

Hmmmmmm, do you ever park your other car in the garage in the same spot? Check your other vehicles fluid levels;)

I have a 1987 924S. There are two things I would check. First there is a washer on the drain plug for the oil. Sometimes they go bad a leak a little fluid. You should let the car sit and then check it out. IF it is the washer they are easy to find in auto stores. Second I would look on the back seal of the balancer shafts they are know to leak also. Good luck

It's probably a good idea to check and see if your oil filter is leaking. If you get your oil changed by a minute lube place, they often tighten the filter too much, thus splitting the seal...Sometimes the seal is just faulty (or not tight enough) and leaks when not under heat/pressure. My MGB had this same problem, a bad filter seal......what are the chances of that?

Thanks for the info. I cheked the filter and plug first since I just changed the oil. Everything seemed to be in order. I will check the balancer shaft next. Funny thing is that it has only leaked 1 or 2 drops in the past couple days. Thanks again for the info. RobE
