Hey guys, time to get your suggestions in now for activities for the 2003 PCA Parade, which will be held in Suncoast Region. This is the Tampa-St.Pete region of Florida.

As Advocate for the 924/931 Register, I've received an email from one of the Parade coordinators looking for suggestions for activities involving the Registers; they're looking to do something special with the Registers in '03 to help promote them. All Registers have been included in the invite.

Now, the natural and immediate thing would be to have a Register gathering, but other things will additionally be desired; one idea (just to stimulate the creative juices) would be to arrange for a local theatre to show "LeMans" for us. This is already in negotiations.

However, Parade is a week-long event, and many other activities will be needed. Please forward your suggestions directly to me at vaughan@vaughanscott.com and I'll pass them on to the coordinators.

On a more personal side, since I'll have accomodation I'll likely be there (my parentals live in the area

Furthermore, every Parade usually includes a Driver's Ed and PCA Club Race. I'd imagine (though I don't know for sure) that this year will be Sebring, since it's in the area. Unless they can close down downtown St. Pete for a street race!!!

Anyhow, it's then a question of do I drive the turbo down and cruise, or do I take the racecar, show it, and enter it in the race? Decisions, decisions...

Don't forget also - Hershey SwapMeet next year will feature a 924/931 contingent... Hershey PA (near Harrisburg), end of April...

One thing that would be nice is a tech session devoted to one particular model line. Maybe set it up for 924/944/968 and have Jim Pasha, Tom Charlesworth, Porsche rep from the era, man the desk.

We could introduce the session with a history presentation.

Make it about an hour or hour and a half long.

Also insert a generic registry card into the pre and post Parade Panos, and at the Parade which can be filled out and mailed (postage paid) to the PCA which then can forward the
stats or cards directly to the appropriate registry.

It would be nice to have the PCNA records also and do a spread sheet of the vins so that people can look theirs car up and see what the order/option list was. A one time free service. Or at a steep discount.

As a registry we need to come up with a patch and sticker. Make the sticker free for registering and charge for the patch and maybe have a few hats.

I've got more ideas. But they willhave to wait.

Heck maybe I can offer a free 1980 931 raffle for a 5 dollar donation to a charity of our choice.
