Well, I'm deep into my 944 brake/racing suspension conversion on my NA, but I have a question about my new springs. I got some 250lb/ 1.5" lowered springs for the front struts. However, the stock Boge struts are too tall and the spring won't compress or stay in place on the perches.
I know when they are on the car they will sit properly, but what if the front comes off the ground or I jack the car up? I can't afford new front inserts at this time, and I know I've read a post similar to this before.
Any ideas?

What is commonly done with racing springs is to use helper springs to keep them lined up. However, with yours, this will not work - helper springs are the same dia as racing springs, 2.5"OD.
I suppose you could ziptie them to the top perches; this is also done. Just drill 2 holes through the top perch, above the spring seat itself, to run the zipties through. Don't forget to deburr the holes, or your zipties could get cut.

I was looking at droping my 924S with the same springs. 250lbs 1.5" lowering springs. Do I need different shocks for this?? What would be the best way to do it?? Also is it hard to lower the rear of the car??

I didn't use new strut inserts, rather I just used zip ties to hold the strut somewhat conpressed. As for the rear, there is info in the FAQ about lowering, but it is a PITA! I'll do it when I buy different torsion tubes, but for the time being I just adjusted the trailing arm a bit to lower the rear. It's not as dramatic as the from will be, but a little bit should go a long way.
I will post pics after christmas when I get the car back on the ground with it's new undergear and fat Fuchs!
