i asked on this board a few months ago, if you could put in a new rear seal withought pulling out the whole engine. Someone said you don't have to. well I was talking to my mechanic just to see how much he would charge me to do it(i dont want to do it myself if he will do it for cheap:) and he didnt believe me that you can do it with the engine still in the car. So ive come to the conclusion that he is an idiot. so I'm gonna do it myself, but before I do i just want to make sure, can I do it withought pulling the engine? thanks

| Pg 30, section 8 of the Haynes "Porsche 924 and Turbo 1976-1982" book tells how to remove the flywheel without removing the engine. It involves removing the bellhousing and sliding the transmission to the rear. You should have access to the rear seal once that is done. |
