well, i got on rennlist and somebody told me that if you have a '88 black 924S with no options, and a 756 in you option codes ,that you have a special "le Mans" edition car with bigger front and rear sway bars, lower ride height, and koni coil-overs.

i just bought my car and it's the first time i looked at the option codes and here is what i have:

C02
C57 (not sure about the first 2)
160
526
573
650
657
756 -le mans?
990

does this mean i have the le mans version? is it more rare and worth more or something?

Code Option Description
160 Radio "Charleston"
526 Cloth door panels
573 Air conditioner
650 Sunroof
657 Power steering
756 Special model 924S USA 1988
990 Seats all cloth
C02 Equipped with catalytic converter

From the 924/944 FAQ:

3.3 924S
Model Year Production Rest of World US Notes
1986 3536 3536
1987 8940 1993 6947
1988 4193 2003 2190 production ended Sept. ‘88
total 16669 7532 9137

There was also a sport package for the 924S, brought into the US, for which we have no production data.

http://www.connactivity.com/~kgross/FAQ/944faq03.html

So, looks like you have the special sport package, and since there were 2190 cars for the US in 1988, there can't be too much with this sport package (max. 2190:)), so yes, it is rare. Not sure it worth more though, that depends abolutely on the buyer.

Quick question.. what's this about a 3.3? As far as I know, all 924S' came equipped with the 2.5 litre 944 engine. Educate me!!!
