Listen Lars, I just stated that I would value my car at $20,000. I never said it was worth that. I own my own house, and have put alot of money in to it. It is my choice to hold whatever value I see fit and if someone wanted to give me what I valued my home at I would consider selling it. The same goes for my car IF I was to sell, I would only sell for the price I see fit period. I never asked Larso to buy it did I. By the way I thought the whole reason for the 924 culb was to help each other out. I gave Joe a set of pistons... what goes around comes around. I gave an opinion about the value of the 924/931 and if no ones sees that value the same way I do ...so be it. I still think the 924 is worth more than an old FORD pick up DON'T YOU??

the problem with free and cheap is not the "courtesy", it 's that if you give free parts away, people who don't need them will take up your offer. some desperate guy in his garage comes in to check the board for parts, and the parts he needed were just given away not 30 minutes ago to some 911 owner who just wanted the parts so he could burn them.
more harm than....good...free...involved?
if i had any right in my mind, i would have called you up and told you i was dick solomon, president of porsche 924, and to send the parts to my US address i rent for my wholesale stocking that you don't even know about.
i.e.give free paint jobs to anyone with a T in their name, All (or most) of the T people get a rusty car, and it took 9 years to do since he was doing it for free. painter says "it's free, you can't do jack".
flip side; mr. T pays a guy, painter now has obligation, responsibility, contract, time limit, record, and important desire.
logic states that if a car is cheap, the parts are cheap, and that if the 944 is cheap, the 924 is cheaper, the 914 is special as there is no 914 copy, there are tons of 924 copies. just my theory according to logic.
i think michael j's trade idea works great...
most 924 owners that buy a 924 for 300 will treat it as a 300 dollar rust bucket and will find free parts to hang on the car, so that it looks even worse...some guy who pays 500 for pistons is not going to hang them on a 300 dollar car. more harm than ood when free involved?
"Use Your Money Wisely 101" lesson 1 section 57 page 8-7, you may now turn the page,

| Well after that bable of B.S. I will remember that larso doesn't like free parts, but yet he doesn,t like high prices. I don't feel used pistons are worth much. So I am giving them away. Just as I gave away at set of rims. If someone can use them great, other than that they are just collecting dust in my shop where I know they won't be used. Hey Joe are you pulling a fast one on me.... maybe lars is right....your stock piling free parts in a conspiracy to end the FREE trade agreement. Oh well I will still send you the pistons, I saw the pics of your car and it doesn't look like a $300.00 rust bucket!! |

What kind of 'cat fight' bullshit is this? The hell with Adie the Throp being a girl, you quiblers are displaying your bitchy genetalia to the extreme.
There's a war on you know!

Thank you Lars for mention of my name (Michael J.) and the free parts. I have done a swap in the past with you for some parts and am extermely happy with I got. I still watch the list and will give away parts for free or if needed, something in return. I now have two 931's to take care of and tons of NA parts that I don't need.
My days of NA 924 are "over"
Got Parts?

Still need a 931 fuel pump relay Michael?
I'm working on making them, there's not much in side them for 80 bucks, i've got one to copy. Pretty simple actually, i just have to find a source for plastic boxes to hold the circuits. |

Dwak, look, either you accept that Adie is a female, or not, I really don't care. I didn't say it to make anyone angry. I really have many good ways to spend my time than giving a #### about some overly aggressive Brit. S/he identified herself as female on Rennlist publicly - I don't know why and I don't care. She said it, not me.
Christallmighty.
She's probably not even rebuilding a V8 into her 924. I think it's total bullshit. But as far as her gender goes, SHE identified herself as female.

Uhhh...Rick, I think you missed dwak's point. I think he was just using a non-PC way of saying that they were whining like a bunch of little schoolgirls. That they were quibbling over piddily crap.
I think the reference to Adie was just about how we were surprised when finding out she was a woman. |

Actually, I was kind of enjoying the "Great Adie the Throp Mystery". A little like "Where's Waldo" in 924 land.

hey well i've given up on the charging proper amounts for parts to make the cars worth more, the fact of the matter is, the parts are cheap and no one is going to change. IE: http://cgi.ca.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=596934096&ed=1004055276
I don't know who the hell shops at performance products if clutches are worth $30 and seats are worth $40 hey!

F....k me! But you blokes seem to be bored.
Here in South Africa a 924 is worth about $2500 - $3500 with a turbo about double, but my car's worth is difficult to determine. I would have to walk if I sold it - I love it and can't imagine going to work in a repmobile! |

| Sounds like the 924 owners in South Africa hold the cars at an honorable value. This was my point back on the "Resale Value" topic. Some understand and agree, and others belive that me giving away free parts is contributing to the demise of cars value. I will help anyone whom is a member of the club, whether it be by advice, critisisim or giving unwanted parts away. |
