I recently melted my motor (XJ spec) and have bought a second hand (XK spec.
I have two questions - what is the difference between the two (I think they are both Euro spec)?
Secondly, I am going to rebuild the XJ motor. I will balance crank, rods, pistons etc and match all the manifolds to the ports. I would also like to fit bigger valves and enlarge the ports slightly. Does anybody know what valves could be used? I do not want a wild motor, but would like to get to about 140-150 bhp, what else should I do? |

well the 931 valves are a lil bigger.
Disadvantage with bigger valves is that the stems are bigger and the flow gets restricted. Try and keep the valve stems skinny with strong material.
Ive never looked at a 924 valve compared to a 931, I've just seen a 931 valve, so I am not sure if the valve stems are the same size and the valve head is just bigger.
I don't like the idea of 931 valves because they cost twive as much as 924 valves. 50 bucks a peice compared to 25 bucks a peice. |
