did porsche ever put five lugs on the 924 with drum brakes on the rear? the reason I ask is that I recently purchased a car that has five lugs except it has drum brakes in the rear. I thought five lugs was a sure way to tell if they have four wheel discs...

Your assumption was correct, but some have put adapters on. I believe performance products or Tweeks actually offer this. In other words these adapters allow the mounting of the 5 lug wheels.
