Wow, there's so much space in there with the CIS junk out of the way! Finally, a place to put a cupholder.

Good work! I can't wait to get my toes wet doing it with my car.

Do you think you could possibly do a little write up of pretty much what you did? Like the parts/prices of parts, where you got them, what you had to fabricate, some of the herdals of doing this, etc.

have you considered making a different intake manifold? something with shorter intake runners?

Aeroquip fittings and everything- nice work!

I am planning on having a new intake welded up similar to Racing's. Mainly to aid in intercooler plumbing. I would think that you would loose too much streetability on an NA with short runners?

Oooooooooo

That's nice. Would love to see a "how-to" writeup -- may be something for the updated garage?? (what's a herdal)...

I think that is supposed to be hurdle.

Yes...a nice concise write up of what you had success with is exactly what the Garage needs.

In regard to a shorter plenum, I was still undecided about a top mount intercooler hence the origional being in place.
I have finally decided on a small front mount from a modified WRX top mount cooler.
The Ecu has been mounted in the passenger side under the glove box, I have a pic and will post soon.
The whole conversion is being done in stages:
Firstly there is all the old CIS removed, the only thing remaining is the fuel filter, the pump is origional and there is a malpassi rising rate regulator controlling the fuel pressure, this will adjust under boost when the supercharger is in place.
The CSV has been removed and the opening blanked off with some steel and gasket sealer.
The AAV is in place but will be replaced by a ford XG (EFI model)air bypass solenoid, which can mount in the same place using a pisece of steel as a mounting plate. The hose fittings are the same dimension and plug straight in.
The throttle is the audi progressive, and this will be replaced by a ford XG (EFI model) single plate butterfly. The efi model has the air bypass outlet capped, there is also a carb model throttle. The throttle has a potentiometer on it which will help with system control. The throttle will probably mount the on the intake of the supercharger With the filter relocated.
As I have not gone distibutorless I had a bosch ignition module as you can probably see mounted near the new coil, I broke one of the plastic terminals on mine. The dizzy has also had the counterweights welded up as the locking pin at the bottom is pressed fit and a pain to remove and replace.
The only other part of the conversion so far is the aluminium crank pulley which has a v belt for the alternator in front of a 5 rib belt for the supercharger(will post pics of this. One note is that aluminium may be lighter but has way more belt noise in the form of a high pitched whine. But I am sure that the grip is alot better.
I relocate the radiator overflow tank to the other side of the engin bay pretty easily using a small square piec of metal and using the rubber bushing mounted studs used some allready present holes near the headlight raising mechanism mounted it clear of this. I just had to shorten the raidiator hose a little. There is also an aluminium right angle piece to hold it to the same mount as the thermostat outlet pipe.
The cost associated were roughly as follows:
Wolf 3D version 4 ECU $1300 with hand controller and PCsoftware
Injectors and fuel rail $600
ignition module and fuel regulator $400
Crank pulley $250
Hoses/fittings/injector bosses $200
Dyno tuning $300
XG Throttle and Air bypass solenoid $100
Next I have to make the mounts for the blower and the intake / outlet pipes.
I Will post more pictures soon as I only worked out how to do it last night...
Thanks to everyone that has contributed on this board as your advice has been so valuable to me over the past couple of years...

$600 for injectors & fuel rail ?!

Care to expound? I have been budgeting much too lightly if this is true. Are you using Bosch injectors?

FYI- you can keep your AAV if you want. It does the same thing as a solenoid activated valve. Just one less thing to worry about.

Also- did you check out the link to the wide-band o2 I posted? Could shorten your dyno tuning sessions considerably and you have a monitor you can glance at for peace of mind. Good way to keep from burning up an engine.

Awesome!

No wonder it looks so bare under that air cleaner, no steering shaft, battery on other side, must be right hand drive.

More pics including an outside shot of the car, it has the 951 rear spoiler on after this photo

Yes it's a right hand drive, New Bosch 14mm B29/58/2.5H 300cc injectors this could be cheaper if you use 2nd hand 944/951 injectors
Fuel rail would be cheaper if you can weld yourself,
Fittings and high pressure hose cost alot of moulah though... especially the 45 degree bends, the straight barbs are cheaper.

CGT front end w/ hood scoop, but with 944 rockers and rear quaters, how did you add the quarters?

also in the last pic in the first set of pics you can see the car is a RHD,

with this setup I would really recommend that you get a 931 alt bracket and move the ALT to the top side of the engine,

in regards to the shorter intake plenum, the car would still be streetable, you just might need to keep the RPMs up a tiny bit more than normal,
but if you really think about it the carb setups for the 924 all have short intake plenums, so why cant a fual injected car,
the exhaust is setup on this car for top end power, why not make the intake the same way.
