I have the dreaded leaking fuel tank in my 924S and need to remove it to replace with a 2nd hand one. How do i get it out? It looks like it wont come out past the gearbox? Any clues?

Are you sure it's he tank? More common to have thelines leaking. But if it is the tank, the tranny has to come out first AFAIK

Yep, definately the tank - leaking from the bottom, too. Dang, tranny out - that sounds hard! Better study my manual.....

If what you have is just a crease-crack or hole and not a major rust problem that's caused the leak, you could fix it way easier with an epoxy putty repair. I believe there are specific products available for gas tank repair, but years ago, I used PC-7 to fix a leak at the bottom of the tank on my old Fiat 124 Spyder. -Just have to drain the tank, sand the repair area to bare metal, mix and apply the putty, let it dry.
