The coolant tank is unique to the 924, and does not fit any other car.

Someone/some people on the message board has/have written that they are usng the larger tank from a 944/924S on their car/s.

I have a brand new, genuine 924 coolant tank I can sell you for $25, plus shipping if you need one. I think the price of an original one from the aftermarket or a Porsche dealer is between $56-$80.

Remember the history of the car. A whole lot of cars in the Porsche stable have VW and/or Audi components.

Exactly so does anyone know what VW or Audi used this same unit?
Chris.

I belive it was the 79 VW bug

Just because it has an VW part number doesn't mean that they ever used it they might have just made it for Porsche.

Why would a 79 VW Bug with a aircooled engine have a coolant expansion tank?

was it not fitted to the LT35 van? I had a look on eurocarparts.com and they don't list the tank currently (if they did it would have had x-refs on to the other vehicles).. but i've driven an LT35 years ago, it had problems overheating but i can't recall exactly what the expansion tank looked like on it...
